What is The D.O.M.E. Experience?
The D.O.M.E. Experience is an interdisciplinary multimedia artistic production that was founded by bassist Mimi Jones and pianist Arcoiris Sandoval in 2013. DOME stands for Dance, Orchestration, Media and Environment and serves the purpose of raising social and environmental awareness through various works which feature choreography, cinematography and original music as well as arrangements performed by a live chamber orchestra. Thematic material has included climate change, land degradation and deforestation, as well as police brutality and other social issues relevant to the community and beyond.
Since its inception in 2013, DOME has been featured at Pregones Theater in the Bronx, The South Bronx Music Festival, as well as at The Bronx Museum for an ongoing Co-Lab commission which culminates on April 27, 2019 where there will be a concert free of admission at 7:30PM to the public at The Bronx Museum. Please come and experience us!
The D.O.M.E. Experience is fiscally sponsored by C.E.R.N. Citizens Emergency Response Network, INC. Thanks to The Mertz/Gilmore Foundation, The Puffin Foundation and The Bronx Council of the Arts for your generous support and helping make our commission possible.
